View Full Version : Using mouse and pen at same time?

Hello all,

i have a question; i am just beginning to use a tablet for writing up on a few documents while i record a presentation; mostly pdf and powerpoint. (I am not a graphic designer; so my use of a touch pad is extremely limited; so i figured the cheap Genius tablet must be sufficient). But there is one problem; there seems to be no way of using both the pen and mouse at the same time;

what i mean is, if i want to scroll down on a page etc when the pen is active, it seems like the only way of doing it is to close the graphic application (AnnotateAll) and then use mouse; then again when i want to write something, i again need to fire it up and change the tip from brush to pen etc; its quite a trouble and very inconvinient; is there any way that the software will recognize that when i click with my mouse it is not for the paint application but use it as a simple mouse click and perhaps drag the page to the next page and while i use the pen use it for the paint application?

is this a peculiarity of this particular device; or are all tablets (even the Wacom ones) similar in their functionality?

thanks
kcj

It's your tablet.

Wacom Intuos 3 tablets, for example have touch strips built in that can act as a scroll feature, zooming, etc... They also come with a mouse with mouse wheel that can scroll as well.

You get what you pay for, though for an Intuos3, you pay quite a bit. I would never have paid the $$$ if I were not using it professionally, or I would have, like yourself bought a consumer grade tablet and lived without the features.
