Hi there,

I have got a logo that I made in Photoshop. The text has been bold, also I have added the bold option in the text options box as well to give it a bit extra 'oomph'!

Now when I imported the logo into Illustrator, and created the outlines, the bold that I added in the text options box in Photoshop disappears.

Is there any way of keeping it, or another technique that will work the same way?

Sorry if what I'm saying doesn't make sense to you, I tried to explain it the best way I could.

Would greatly appreciate anyone's help! :)

Cheers,

Steve

So, you selected a Font Family, then chose a font style, then chose the Faux Bold option in the Character window... Right?

Illustrator will recognize the Font Style, but "Faux Bold" is not part of the font. Its something Photoshop does to simulate a bold effect. Illustrator does not do this, so that option is lost when importing - Assuming you want to keep it all as editable text... Otherwise, rasterize your type in PS before you import.

I am not a fan of the Faux Bold options in programs. In the early days, this was achieved by duplicating the text and offsetting it slightly. That has always bugged me... Looks like Photoshop adds pixels to the right and bottom of edges of each character...
