importing other adobe products

good day and salutations.

I'm curious to know if anyone has an insite as to, importing InDesign files into Illustrator. I know Illustrator can inport alot of formats, I even have a plugin to import specific CAD formats(.ard) I'm just confused as to why I can't find a plugin or way to import InDesign files into Illustrator.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated. thanks.

Hi Krowazoa,

You can not place an ID file in Illustrator. But you can export from ID in PDF, EPS, JPG, SVG and XML.

You can also copy and paste from ID to Illustrator but your text gets broken into individual text lines, etc.

yeah, figures,... I had a client send me a design the did in InDesign, yet we don't have it installed here. we just had them export it to a file we could read. thanks for the info.
