I have a problem. I do vinyl graphics and use Illustrator to do my drawing. My other program will recognize .ai and .eps files for the machine to cut. However since I have upgraded from CS to CS3 on a Mac I get a white background behind my art and the graphic is no longer able to be edited. Is there something I'm doing wrong? My vinyl machine is on a windows PC but I didn't have this problem when I used CS. I would draw on the mac and import on the PC. I could save as an .ai and import on the other program and everything was fine. Now since CS3 I get this mystery white background and my artwork is no longer in nodes other than the background. I know this probably sounds confusing in the way I described it but maybe some of you have had the same problem.

There may ba another answer to you issue, but...

Try choosing an earlier version when saving. 10, 9, 8, or 3.

hey,

save an EPS in version 3 (not japanese!) and postsript level 3. Nearly every CAD or vector app should import it without any problems.

have a nice weekend!
