I'm creating some buttons that are not meant to have any borders around them. I've made sure that the objects do not have borders themselves. I set the crop area tool and go to Save for Web and all of a sudden, it has a border on it that translates to the finished file.
I'm sure there's an easy fix for this but I haven't been able to figure it out, nor find it by searching. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Are you saving to a GIF image?
GIF images use a "Matte" to aid in transparency. You can change to color of the Matte, but two default options are black and white. If you must use a GIF image because of transparancy, change the color of the Matte to either the background color of the web page it is going on, or the color of the border of your button. Using the color of the web page background works best when the page background is solid.
With the added support of thr PNG image format, that may be an option, and does not require a matte.

Thanks for the reply. I'm saving as a .jpg but I am not tied to that format. I am trying to make a white rounded corner on a dark image. When I save it, the black borders extend to complete the rectangle.
I've attached a couple screen shots to show what's going on.
