Printing Multiple Pages From Multiple Layers

Hi All--
I know Illustrator is not a desktop publishing program, but is there anyway to print the layers in a document at one time into consecutive pages, such as layers 1 and 2 are pages 1 and 2 if you print in a PDF format? Or do you have to PDF each layer and then piece together in Adobe Acrobat? Thank you so much in advance! :)

Yes and no
You can page tile artwork. For example, lets say you wanted to have two pages that you are going to print on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. You would have to increase the artboard to 11x17. Go to print, choose a paper size of 8 1/2 x 11 and then go to the setup tab and choose Tile Full Pages from the Tiling drop down menu.

Instead of hitting Print, select Done. Make sure you have Page Tiling turned on (View>Show Page Tiling). Now you can place your content accordingly.

Kind of a pain but it works.
