unknown error

Hi, I've been having a lot of trouble saving my illustrator files because everytime I try to save them I get a message that says "an unknown error has occured", so I can't save anything and it's really affecting my production. Please help!

What platform are you on? Windows or MAC (I suspect Windows)?

I'd try and do a reset all preferennces. Launch Illustrator and immediately hold Shift/Contro/Alt keys to reset all.

If that does not solve the issue I think you will have to reload the program. But check first that you have all updates (which would include Error patches). Also if you updated any XP patches (If Windows) that might be an issue.

I had a computer crash recently and needed to reinstall all versions of the CS applications in order to resolve two massive errors in using these as CS3 versions. The best advice I got on all this was Buy a Mac!

I had the same problem.

Uncheck "Create PDF compatible file" during the Save As process.
