Turn off effects rendering

Hey All

Im looking for a quick way to turn off the effects rendering in illustrator CS3, im usng a few drop shadows on text and images so the refresh rate and wait times are longer.

Working in outline mode doesnt help...

anyone help me out??

If you pull down from Effect>Document Raster Effects settings... you can change the resolution. Use something real low and see if that speeds things up.

Another way to get it to render quicker is to "hide" the effect. Select the actual drop shadow effect and hold down the command key and press 3.
