Hello Everybody,

I wanted to make a grunge distress, minus back effect.

I have a image of a footballer and i live traced it with 6 color mode, then i live painted it.

Now i wish to make a few spraycan effects on the picture, but i wish to minus back (cut out) the spraycan effects so that the white background becomes visible.

Anybody knows how to do this?

Thanks

Djaga

Not sure I understand what you are trying to do, but if you just want your symbol sprayer effects to show as white, just select your sprayed effect and go to Object>Flatten Transparency, make sure that the box for Preserve alpha transparency is NOT checked. Then you can change the color of the spray to white (your background or whatever color you want.

In order to use the pathfinder you need to expand the spraycan effect; you'll also have to create a compound path from the resulting expanded objects so that they all participate in the minus back operation.
