Hi,

Can someone teach me how I can create a bending round rect or a tube in illustrator?

Please see the attached picture and advise me how I can achieve that exactly.

Thanks!

Is there any way I can do a bend off a rect?

Doesn't matter about the gradient. I tried using arc warp on my rect but it doesn't looked uniform.

Is there any other method I can use to bend a straight tube?

Scott's tutorial let's you know that you can drag any piece of artwork into the Brushes Palette to make it an Art Brush.

Drag your rectangle artwork into the Brushes Palette (Save as Art Brush). Draw the arc or bend that you require with the Pen or whatever, keep it selected and then click the art brush you just made. The path gets stroked with the rectangle art brush. Adjust the size of the stroke, etc. to get the desired result.

Following the tutorial I linked to, it's a fairly easy thing to make the curve you're after. Here are specific steps.
