I have a JPEG image that needs to have a transparent backround. I have no clue how to work this program, so any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi accuraterealty,

Jpgs are better handled with Photoshop, not Illustrator.

If its a simple drawing with a white background you can trace around it with the pen tool and then use that shape as a clipping mask to mask out the white. After you are done just save it out as a transparent gif or png with the "save for web" option.

JPEGs don't support transparency.
