Does anyone know what the best Video Interconversion Software is right now?

I am looking at trying to convert some flv files to other formats. One system on line in Movani - looks good on trail version and not too costly.

But do any of the Creative Suite applications allow for this? I have PS Extended and Flash (not yet up to speed on Flash) and wondered if any of these can interconvert file types. Flv to Quicktime (like Monavi) or other generally usable files.

Thanks for any input here.

Gary.

I think Quicktime Pro is only about $20. And yes, it works on PC. Not sure if reads FLV.

What are trying to convert to? Quicktime, mpg4?

Thanks Repro,

I was capturing a few web based videos and the flv types are not the best type to be viewed. Though the Adobe Player will work with them.

The Movani software is not the only one out there - the trial version looks like it does a good job - it does have the watermark but it looks like it is good at converting any type to any other type. I am impressed with its conversion to Quicktime - sight and sound and creation of the player switches etc. It comes at a reasonable price.

Just wondered if other readers were familiar with it or its competitors.

Hi - Sorry for my complete ignorance on the subject. I am trying to convert wmv and mpg4 files to .flv files for a website. I have been looking for an inexpensive program that does this. The above link looks good, but it looks like it only runs on Windows OS is this true, or am I mistaken?

If it's true can anyone recommend a Mac program for under $50? that will video convert for me?

Thankyou in advance for all your help and ideas-

Jess

Maybe Camtasia? Too expensive for many to buy ($300 a pop) but 30 totally free unrestricted) days. Even if it does not work for this application you might have fun with it in other ways for 30 days (If it runs on MAC).

I just checked out a wmv file and it did play and will load into the video edit window so should be saveable in many different formats.
