Greetings.
I'm working on a brochure in two languages - I'm noticing that the non-latin characters aren't being affected by hyphenation and so the word spacing isn't as effective as I want it to be. The same paragraph styles are applied to both.
I'm not sure how to address this problem - or how indesign is treating the non-latin characters.
Any help much appreciated.

Hyphenation and spell checking follows the language specifiec in Paragraph style, Paragraph, Character style or character.
There are some languages in InDesign, don't know ho wit works if you get outside of those. Arabic, persian and contextual right to left scripts are not supported unless you have inDesign ME.

Thanks for the speedy response - I understand. So I have to create separate paragraph rules for both languages?
For some reason I thought I wouldn't have to?
I'm working in Greek - sorry didn't mean to be cryptic!

Paragraph rules are somehing completely different, but I assume you mean paragraph styles.
If you base the one on the other, then you the styles work as master and slave. Make the one style, make the next based on the first and ONLY change the language (unless you also want to change font)
You can also use a character style to override language if a paragraph has mixed languages.

Great thanks - yes 'styles' not rules.
Thanks for the great advice :)
