Image background prints shaded

I messed up a setting in acrobat at some point along the way. Each time I print a pdf document that has my logo on it, the background behind the logo prints out being shaded (basically, it's a square logo with an image in a portion of the square and the white space around the logo (inside the box) is white, but prints out being shaded).

It didn't use to do this, but several weeks ago I started changing settings (that I probably had no business changing in the first place), trying to fix a different issue, and now I have this problem. Any ideas?

You're logo is using some sort of transparency, whether it's a drop shadow, transparent parts, bevel and emboss or anything like that, even outer glow or something.

that did it - it was a problem with the overprinting setting.
