Anyone using After Effects out there? I used it back in V.6 and REALLY liked the tool. Just writing this to test the waters of the forum to see if there are any AE users. I do a bit of print design work freelance, but would like to get back into using AE and would like to hear what any of you fine folks have to comment on.
I see there is a section for Photoshop, InDesign etc...but no AE? It's in the mag, but looks to be a quiet topic here.

Hi, I use After Effects and I agree it's a great program. I started on 6.5 when I was doing broadcast. Now I use it for corporate training and sales and 7 really rocks. Get the upgrade you will love it. I also recently started using Cinema 4D and they go together hand-in-hand. I saw someones on-line reel and I knew instantly I needed to take my work to the next level (3D and AfterEffects) and the time and money is paying off. The only negative is the hours you will spend, even on a great day, delving into all the tools. Time well spent I think.
Cheers,
Ron

Thanks Ron,
I will try to work it into the budget and check out the 4d as well. It is funny that you mentioned corporate training, as that is one of the uses I was hoping to use AE7 on.

The time always seems to go by so quick using AE.
As you mentioned time well spent. ;)
Thanks for the reply.

Hi, Have you visited Creative Cow? They have extensive forums and tutorials with great links. Dean Valez is great too and he's done a lot of corporate and broadcast work in AE. He's made traianing DVDs for Total Training, which is on the expensive side, but he also sells direct. Sorry I don't have the links handy. Google all and have fun,
All the best Ron
