Hello... I am pretty new to Illustrator CS2. I have been creating logos and saving them as a GIF file. I will mostly use these logos on websites and t-shirts, but the problem I have is that there is a white outline on everything I create. What am I doing wrong? any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Are you trying to use transparency with the GIF files? If so, that's the problem.
GIFs don't support partial transparency: either a pixel is completely opaque or it is completely transparent. When you create artwork in Illustrator, this artwork is antialiased (has smooth edges) unless you tell the program not to use antialias (which might not look very good depending on the work done).
A format that supports partial transparency (or alpha channel transparency) is PNG, which you can get by going to File - Save for Web.

Thanks Coningham. It worked! One more question though... do you need special software to open the PNG files or is it common like JPEG files that everyone can open? I am not too familiar with PNG files.

Most "modern" programs support PNGs with alpha channel transparency, including non-graphic softwares. It isn't as popular as JPEGs and GIFs yet but it is getting there.
The only "modern" program (or at least that I'm aware of) that has problems with the alpha channel transparency is Internet Explorer, so if you want to use PNGs on sites as well you'll need a javascript hack: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/bobosola/

its reasons like the .gif jaggies and alpha problems that I no longer try to use irregular shaped art... I just create the logo on the same color or designed background of the web page that its going into to avoid the alpha problems ;)
