What happens when you're still learning to work with Illustrator and didn't take a lot of time to practice the use of the tools during the holidays?
You forget stuff :D
What I'm trying to do is make the petals of a flower rotate around the center.
So I made one petal and I want it to become more petals that rotate all the way around the center of the flower.
The rotate part I got, but I can't remember how to get the one petal to copy while rotating. I know I can set the value somewhere, if I remember correctly but I can't find it.
pleh!

Select the petal - Select the Rotate Tool - Alt click where you want the rotation centre, which also opens a dialog panel, where you enter the angle of rotation and check Copy to copy. Then Ctrl+D to repeat the rotate copy as many times as you like.
That's the accurate way, but you can simply use the rotate tool, move the pivot to wherever and then hold down Alt to copy. Then Ctrl+D again.

Also in the rotate dialog you can type 360/12 to get 12 evenly spaced petals. Just change the divisor to the number you want.

That's a damn cool tip, Husker! Thanks! I had no idea.

Nice one Husker =]
I knew a similar thing can be done to resize a frame to half it's size (or 1/3, 1/5, etc...) by adding /2 after the dimension.
This one's new to me though.
Neat stuff. :)

In Indesign too you can do a ton of math just by applying the +, -, / and * symbols for the basic math functions. Only in Ai and InD though not PS.
