Hey All

I am relatively new to InDesign. I moved from Pagemaker straight to InDesign CS2. I have a lot of knowledge on Newspaper and Newsletter designing, but not magazine designing.

The question I have is very simple I suppose to most here, except me. I want to know how do you design something on the spine of the magazine as the magazine will be PEREFCT-BOUND when a commercial printer does the printing.

Any help will be greatlt appreciated! :D

You'll need to find out the width of the spine from the printer, then make a separate layout for the cover that incorporates the amount they give you.

For instance, if you are designing an 8-1/2"x11" book with a spine bulk of 1/4", make your cover document 17-1/4" x 11" and layout the back cover, spine, and front cover on one page.
