Make links relative without packaging???

Does anyone know if there is a way to make link paths relative without packaging the InDesign file? I'm currently working with writers who are using InCopy on the PC and the PC does not use the same network file path as the Mac I'm on (so the links are broken). I don't want to embed the images for obvious reasons. Any suggestions?
