Hello, i read some of the comments on this subject and i understand working with the Pages Option menu to get the pages to set up properly, now how do i get page numbers to show up on these pages...
thanks
teresa
Go to the Master Page, double click the icon. Draw a text box where you want the page number to appear, if you're working on a two page spread, you'll have to do one for left and right. From the type menu, Type > insert special character > insert page number. Then format the page number to match the type style of the document, and you're finished.
There is a keyboard shortcut, and it'll show up next to the menu item.

Hey! That's great!
Now, these pages are viewed as reader spreads, what button do i push to instantly make them into printer spreads. Ha!
t
Ha ! Ha ! You don't ! Printer's spread is made by "imposition", the page numbers will follow. Let your printer do the job, at least ask him before.

The printing house i use is really up to date on all this technology, so i will let them "imposition" everything. Can you tell me, is this done by certain software or do they probably set up things by hand still.
dumb question.

Depends on how up-to-date the printshop is. And also how many pages there are in the publication. But most of the bigger shops will have special software (which is very expensice) for setting up complex impositions. How the job will be imposed depends on the number of pages, how it will be bound (perfect or saddle stitched), how big the signatures (sheets of paper) they are printing on are as well as other variables.
