InDesign CS2 has suddenly decided to run super slow even when there are no raster elements placed in a layout. I'm on Windows XP on a machine with an Intel Pentium D 3.4Ghz Dual Core, 4GBs of RAM, and a 7200RPM SATA harddrive. I shouldn't being seeing this problem.
I ideas besides, "Use a Mac"? :p

I'm on a Mac, but I'll throw out a suggestion or two to maybe spark an idea. When InDesign starts running slow for me, it's often that my font cache is messed up. This usually happens after I've opened and closed a lot of documents, and opened and closed fonts a lot (using Suitcase). I don't know if there's some PC utility for clearing your font cache, but that usually helps for me. It might even be a corrupt font...try turning off any unused fonts.
Another thing that it might be is a plug-in...have you added any lately? Try shutting off any third-party plug-ins (including InBooklet SE) from within InDesgin and see if anything improves.
It could be more of a system thing (like something stealing memory from InD suddenly), in which case I generally repair permissions and restart to clear some caches...not sure what the equivalent on the PC would be. Maybe it's a jumping off point, though?
One last thing, is this only happening in one document, or all of them suddenly?

Have you installed something new recently or changed any other settings? Sometimes adjusting the size of the paging file is helpful, but you'll want to exhaust other possibilities first.
