So... I've got this full page ad with 4 columns of text, a heading (4 words) at a 20? angle cutting thru the text and all the columns, AND overlapping a large 2 column photo centered in the top middle of the page.

I want the text to run around the photo AND over/under the angled heading.
Here's the problem:

If I text wrap the Heading only, this works, but the text runs under/over the photo.
If I text wrap the photo as well, that works, but then the photo makes the heading text wrap too, so the 4 words are now bunched in the corner of the text box.

I put the white text into a regular black box (reversed), thinking I could layer this and have the photo NOT bugger up the heading but layering does not protect the heading.

Hopefully, I am explaining this to make sense. Any ideas how to solve this in IDCS2?
Thanks to all your replies. :-)

...I think I have a mental picture of it. You want the body text to wrap around (or under or whatever) the picture AND the heading, but not have the heading affected by the text wrap on the photo? Select the heading text frame, then choose Object > Text Frame Options and select Ignore Text Wrap down near the bottom. InDesign ignores what's where in the stacking order (like in Quark, the item needs to be on the top for it to have items runaround it)...InDesign doesn't care.

Let me know if that was the trick you were looking for!

Erica,
Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!
You should be called Superwoman for me!

I must have spent 2 hours trying different combinations to get that text wrap to flow correctly. And I never knew there was that one check box!!!

You are a dear! :-)

Glad I could help. I've had many a moment trying to figure something out...and my husband will say, "Did you press the 'whatchamacallit' key?" and I say, "The What??!! When did that come along?" And he'll say, "version 1.0." "Oh. Of course. The Whatchamacallit key." But I seem to remember those fixes forever.

I hope you didn't pull out any hair in the process! :D
