How can I do those circles ( as shown in the image) not the text.

Zap,
I'm not sure that this is the best way to do it, but here's one.

1- Start with a 1" circle, no stroke, fill with black;
2- double-click on the scale tool, scale the circle 90%, uniform and copy;
3- fill the copy with white; the copy will be in front of the original and selected;
4- with the arrow key, move your white copy about two clicks to the right;
5- select both circles and make a Compound path;

You can now scale and copy this object the number of times you want.
