Preview document form fields

I've been inserting form fields to create fillable worksheets for students who have physical limitations that limit their ability to write neatly, but they are able to type.

after adding form fields, there used to be a "preview" option in the menu bar so that you could see how the document looked as you continued to work on it. for some reason, that option has disappeared from my menu bar and I dont know whether I inadvertently clicked some option to "hide" it.

If anyone knows how to get the "preview" option back, i'd appreciate it.

If you have the separations pannel open you will not see fileds.
