Default InDesign to GoLive to html

Hi all...

I'm a new editor of our woodturning club's newsletter. You can see this at www.carolinamountainwoodturners.org if you wish.

I can do the steps of creation in InDesign, and "place" the document in GoLive. In InDesign I can also create "for print" sized pdfs, and also the "smallest files size" for use on the club's web site.

The problem comes in creating an HTML version, also for the website. Two bad things happen.

1 - For no known reason one of the larger pictures on page one just disappears, even though the photo is in the project folder and shows up in the pdf version. This is a tiff file of 2.7MB. No other photos are lost in the 10 page document. Why and what to do are the questions.

2 - The size of the HTML presentation as seen on the screen is about 2+ screen widths, and there is no apparent way to "zoom out" and get 1 page width per screen. How do I get the HTML page size (as seen on the monitor) to the correct size?

Thanks for any insights; more thanks for step by step instructions.

Bob

Hi. Someone may think me ignorant ( and I really am when it comes to GoLive, but if you were to make your large tiff into a Jpg, I'll bet it would open in Go Live. I don't' think that GoLive can handle tiffs. Now I'm not sure if the package for the web function of InDesign converts tiff into jpgs or gifs

Thanks Billy. GoLive is handling all the other tiffs on that and other pages. However, it may be the SIZE of this one tiff, at 2.7Mb. However, the downsized jpeg version might work and I'll weave that into the project for a try. Thanks again. Bob
