Layers Blog Winner | NVIDIA Brings It | Fireworks to Flash Tutorial

Happy Friday everyone. Couple of quick points here that I wanted to mention.

Layers TV and Layers Blog Winners
A big congratulations goes out to Alton Carrol for winning this week’s Layers Blog Contest. We very much appreciate you guys joining us and participating in the contest - so it’s always great that someone wins. Hey.. you never know.. maybe next week it will be you! You won’t know until you enter. So be sure to check it out next week.

NVIDIA is all over the Creative Suite
We’ve got to give it to NVIDIA here. This week really has me gawking at their site for what is to come for a couple of reasons:

I own a Macbook Pro And Want To Switch Already:
I have the Multi Touch Macbook Pro, and this thing rocks. However, this week, the new Macbook Pro was announced:

Glass touch interface, *yawn*
Cool shiny screen *yawn*
DisplayPort with DUAL NVIDIA cards?!?! Yeah.. that got my attention.

The new Macbook Pro now has a GeForce 9400M GT for the more conservative, while reserving a GeForce 9600M GT for any kind of heavy lifting that’s needed (3D, Video, Motion Graphics). Add the 320GB 7200RPM drive and max RAM, and you have a drool machine for me.

NVIDIA is going will let you take advantage of CS4. CS4 will let you take advantage of NVIDIA
So.. a lot of what you are hearing about CS4 is how many of the applications are taking advantage of the GPU. It definitely says something more when the software happens to be running on their cards. Take a look at the NVIDIA website for a very good overview on how their technology is going to let you really open up the CS4 experience. A very exciting week for them indeed.. Congrats! Let me know where I can send you this laptop for a trade in. :)

Fireworks to Flash Video
Today, Tom Green takes us through the integration between Fireworks and Flash. I love the fact that Fireworks is getting out there and couldn’t agree with Tom more. Sometimes.. the right tool for the job is needed - and when it’s the web.. you really need to check out Fireworks.

That’s it for this week everyone.. have a wonderful weekend, and we’ll see you guys back here Monday morning!

You can totally sell your Macbook pro on ebay.. with all the programs installed you can get close to the computers marketing price. … ooooh. sign it with a black thin permanent marker, put the layerstv url with it.. ok. yes, I am getting carried away here….

Dave Helmly, senior business development manager DV/DI at Adobe, gave an enthusiastic demo of how NVIDIA’s Quadro CX graphics board works with Adobe’s CS4 Production Premium software in his DAVTechTable feature on AdobeTV; you can check it out at http://tv.adobe.com/#vi+f1510v1002.

NVIDIA just added a new Performance Page to its website, showing the actual data for a blu-ray video encoding project using Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 and Quadro CX – resulting in an approximate seven-and-a-half hour speed-up. Check it out at http://www.nvidia.com/object/IO_62559.html.
