Layers TV Episode 35 Contest Winner
First and Foremost, I want to congratulate Tom Corcoran for being the winner of the Layers TV episode 35 contest. My apologies for getting this out to you guys today, but the video did not drop until later on Wednesday. Make sure that you click the player over there on the right to watch. If you like us that much, make sure that you subscribe to us on iTunes as well.
The correct answer for the contest was to hit the Command [PC: Control] Enter (or Return) to test a movie. Good on you guys for getting that. (and if you're smart and checked this site in the AM, you know I gave you guys the answer for tomorrows blog contest - my producer just told me of that this AM. Sorry about that)
I got an email a while ago from someone called Frustrated Jack about the fact that we don't announce the winner on the show anymore. He stated that he'd "Kill to have that back". Now I really, really hope he was kidding about that part - but it did make me conscious of the fact that we really should mention it in the episode the contest is on. So.. Tom - you're our first on the new policy. Give much props to Frustrated Jack for changing the rules here. We really do appreciate it.
Eddie Tapp is a Special Guest
This week's episode of Layers TV has Eddie Tapp as a special guest, and I can't tell you how much of a pleasure it was to interview him. If you want to catch more of Eddie, be sure to visit his website or check his courses out on the Kelby Training website.
1TB on a Macbook Pro? A Cool Art of Type Tutorial? They both await you after the jump.
1TB Macbook Pro
This I thought was really cool.. MCE Technologies is showing off a kit that takes your 17'' Macbook Pro and turns it into a 1TB beast. If there is anything more that I would want out of my Macbook Pro 15'', it is more RAM and a bigger hard drive.. like way bigger. The 1TB would be just about right.. and more RAM helps Premiere and After Effects.
Check out MCE Technologies here.. MCE, if you're watching... we'd totally love you if you sent one.
The Art of Type
James Felici has got a great tutorial on drop caps. Make sure you check him out by clicking on the following link.
Thanks for watching everyone... see you guys back here tomorrow!
