RC has a tutorial explaining some of the basics of working with buttons in Flash.
- Open a new Flash document
- Drag out a shape (in this case an oval) and convert it into a button symbol
- Insert a keyframe and adjust the properties of the button for its ‘up’, ‘over’, and ‘down’ states
- The ‘hit’ property defines what area of the button is active
- Adjust the hit area so that it’s smaller than the button
- Use many of the same steps to create an animated button from text and a movie clip
- Expand the project using the tutorial materials available for download on this page

- You can flip the text to the inside your path if you like
