Episode Summary

Corey Shows us a workaround for how to animate scale in Photoshop CS3

  • Take your image and define a pattern from it
  • After filling a new layer above, apply a pattern overlay layer style
  • Go into the blending options and drop the fill opacity
  • Adjust the pattern overlay options to increase or decrease the scale
  • Drop both instances into the animation timeline and Photoshop will scale between the two states
  • You can use the same steps to add a moving background

RC demonstrates how to put together a Flash animation that is composed of 3 different .swf files

  • In this tutorial, RC is using 3 different .fla files, each of them composed of 3 symbols fading in from different points
  • Create a PSD file with your layout and all of your layers inside of it
  • Import the PSD file into the Flash stage
  • Import the layers as movie clips and then go to properties to convert them into buttons
  • Build a container for your .swf files to play in
  • Use behaviors to make your buttons load the external movie clips in the container you just made
  • These techniques can be used to build your website in Flash using several small components

I used the flash animation to bring in the different .swf files and it worked awesome in flash. However, when I brought it into dreamweaver, and put it into a webpage, it no longer worked. I just wondered if you guys had the same problem.
