RC uses Illustrator to recreate a complex geometric pattern that’s featured in an eye-catching print ad.

• Open a new doc and drag out ruler guides
• Use the Star Brush to create a diamond. Adjust the number and length of the points using keyboard shortcuts
• Create a new Scatter Brush with the diamond
• Use the Scatter Brush options to adjust the properties
• Draw out an arc with the Arc tool and apply the Scatter Brush
• Rotate and Copy the pattern around a center point
• Make a Clipping Mask from the shape
• Use a Radial Gradient and colors from the Swatches palette. Use a hard light blending mode
• That’s the background. Now add text and then lemons from the Symbol Library and you have a finished product
