Episode Summary

RC creates rollovers with the greatest of ease using Fireworks CS3

  • Create Slices on a Fireworks CS3 document by accessing the Slice Tool (Keyboard shortcut )
  • Create a duplicate Frame of your animation for it’s rollover state
  • Using the Slice Select tool, you can click on the target icon and drag to the element behind the slice and it will make a swap image
  • Preview your work in Fireworks by clicking on File>Preview in Browser
  • To export the file, you can select File>Export

TIP: Inside of Bridge, there is an area called Bridge Home that lets you check out great Adobe Resources, Videos, and Extensions for your CS3 applications.

TIP: Create a ‘remote rollover’ effect by duplicating frames, and using the slice select tool. Click on the target of the slice and drag it to a new graphic area, and link the swap image behavior with one of the newer frames that you have created. Enter in some text in those newer frames, and you now have remote rollovers.
