Corey has a tutorial about the benefits of using vector masks.
- Open an image and create a new path using the pen tool
- Make sure the layer is transparent and unlocked, then create the new vector mask using the current path
- Check the pen tool settings and add to your path
- You can also modify the anchor points along the original path
- It's possible to add a layer mask to the same layer as the vector mask
- Remember, unlike layer masks, vector masks are scalable
Bert Monroy shares a tip he uses when working in Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Bert uses Illustrator and Photoshop together to create digital paintings
- To create perspective, objects must appear smaller as they get farther away in the painting
- Use the blend tool in Illustrator to automatically create the changes in size as a series of object moves back
