Episode Summary

Corey has learned how to use expressions in After Effects to make an object pulsate to the beat of a music track.

  • Open After Effects and import shape and sound files into the project window
  • Select the audio file and convert audio to keyframes
  • Twirl down the menu on the shape layer and hit S to adjust the scale
  • Highlight the scale adjustment and go to add expression
  • Drag the expression icon over to the scale adjustment slider
  • Modify the expression by multiplying it by 5
  • Duplicate the object as many times as you like

RC demonstrates how to make a picture gallery with Fireworks.

  • Open Fireworks and go to the Create Slideshow option under the Commands menu
  • You can add multiple albums to the slideshow
  • Type in captions for the images if you want to provide more information
  • Apply captions, filters, and other slideshow properties. Adjust the size of the images as well
  • Export the slideshow into a Flash file in order to protect your images from being downloaded
  • Customize the gallery further using Dreamweaver, Photoshop, etc.
