New Layers TV | Terry White’s Missing Laptop | David Ziser Class | Indesign Tutorial Posted
Well, happy post tax day everyone! I figured rather than sit at home and sulk about the amount of money that I just sent Uncle Sam, I would take some time to talk to you about cool things instead.
This week on Layers TV, we have a special guest. Laurie Excell – renown nature photographer, joins us to talk about a couple of cool features on the D3 and the D300. I know a lot of people who have the new Nikons, and are still fumbling around on the buttons and dials. She takes some time to go over some of her favorite features and even pulls some double duty, giving us cool Photoshop tips to take our images to the next level. I am even more excited about the fact that she was in town recording yet another class to be added to the Kelby Training roster; two classes on how to operate both the D3 and D300.
Aside from being a great person to trade cool gear tips with, she does host our Gear Desk, and serves as head person over at The Equipment Lady. This is a website that lets you take your old gear and sell it – a must have when you are trying to upgrade to new and improved stuff. Why put it on Ebay when Laurie can take care of all of that for you. She also hosts some amazing Safaris – so if you are into wildlife, you definitely need to check those out.
David Ziser Master Class Now Available
While we are on the subject of awesome Master Classes, I saw that David Ziser is at it again, offering an amazing opportunity to learn from one of the greats in Wedding Photography.
“If you want to improve your flash technique, your photography expertise, your Photoshop and Lightroom skills, and build a more profitable business then David’s Master Class is for you. Nobody puts more down to earth, practical, usable ideas into a week long course…”
For more information on that, go visit the David Ziser website
A very scary story of a missing laptop and an InDesign tutorial wait for you after the jump. Check it out!
Terry White Loses His Laptop
This is a cautionary tale about keeping a VERY close eye on your belongings as you are going through TSA security. Terry White was on a trip very recently, going through an airport as he normally does. What makes me completely nauseated is that he gets to the hotel in CA, only to find he LEFT HIS LAPTOP BACK at the AIRPORT! Now, the reason that this freaks me out is because on a recent trip to Vegas, I had a practical joke played on me by a couple of co-workers. I remember getting on board my plane and going for the laptop, only to find it missing. Panic immediately ensued, and in a couple of seconds, my friends immediately let me in on the prank and gave me the laptop back. This by no means compares to what happend to Terry. He does, however, have some good information to help those of you who may run into the same problem.. and it’s only a matter of time, friends.
Check it out at the Terry White website.
New Indesign Tutorial Posted
While we are on the subject of Mr. White, he has a great tutorial on Snippets Versus Libraries in InDesign CS3. Make sure you pop over to the Tutorials area to check that out.
Snippets Versus Libraries – Terry White
I’m keeping it light today, so you can go and check out our episode. Remember, If you go to the Adobe TV website or are checking out the episode on Itunes, please leave us a star comment. We really want to know what you guys think of the show in those two areas, and totally appreciate the comments. Also keep in mind – in iTunes it’s a MUCH better quality of show because you can really make the windows bigger and see more of the tutorials. If you’re running it, it’s definitely worth a subscription to it there (and a rating).
Have a great Wednesday everyone!
