onOne Photoframe Pro 3.1 at my wedding
Ok, so I didn’t really bring PhotoFrame with me on my computer for my wedding – it almost made it. [shameless plug alert]: Just got married, very happy, soon we will be settled in Florida.
So, the wedding: It was one of those rare times that I –wasn’t– the photographer. Those duties were relegated to three people: My brothers Augusto and Carlos, and my wedding photographer Michael Cuttone at Captured in Time Photography.

Back to business: Carlos shot this image with his Canon Rebel. The feet were cut off so we did some cropping – however I immediately thought to myself. “Edge, Edge. Edge” There’s something about putting a border around an image that just makes it look so much better.
Rather than jump into Photoshop and start working on it, I fired up PhotoFrame Pro 3.1, created by our friends over at onOne software.
I could spend a long time talking about the other plugins in the suite (which I will .. at some other point), but I just loved the ease of PhotoFrame for this instance.
So you’re in Photoshop. Click on onOne and click on PhotoFrame 3.1 .

After a quick splash screen, PhotoFrame brings you to a frame screen. Folks – it’s Frame utopia..

There are over 4,000 frames and textures, ready for your application. The frames are sorted by volume, so you can easily move from frame to frame, checking them out. To apply a frame, just double-click.
Once you have the frame applied, you can click on the frame itself and resize it with handles similar to the Photoshop interface.

Another great feature of the plugin is that you can take frames and stack them on top of one another for interesting combinations.

I’m sure that with some tooling around I could come up with an interesting design in Photoshop. But it’s hard to compete with their library.
Taking it one step further, you can even buy frame packages from legends in the Photoshop space: Dave Cross, Jack Davis, Vincent Versace, Helene Glassman, Jim DiVitale, and Rick Sammon. Now I too can brag to people “Oh yeah.. that’s my wedding picture – totally in a Vincent Versace frame”
It just doesn’t get easier. Happy Monday everyone!
