Episode Summary

RC has some tips about using Illustrator to create a brochure with text wraps inside.

  • Open a new document in illustrator, then drag out a text box and add a logo to create a header
  • Create another text box below the header
  • Go to Lorem Ipsum to quickly create some fill text to use in the design
  • Paste the fill text into the text box and use the Adjust Area Type command to change the presentation of your text
  • Create some shapes with the pen tool and drag that shape over the top of the text box
  • Select both objects and then make a text wrap to fit the text around the shape object
  • Experiment with different shapes and symbols. You can also import a picture and draw a shape around it to create the text wrap

Corey shows how to customize your workspace in Photoshop and create an action that loads that workspace as soon as Photoshop opens.

  • Open Photoshop and make adjustments to your workspace that you would like to use all the time
  • Save the Workspace
  • Open the Actions palette an create a new folder. Create a new action inside the folder
  • Record an action of opening the new workspace and then stop the action and save it
  • Go to Scripts Events Manager and Enable Events to run scripts and actions
  • Set the options so that Photoshop runs the action as soon as the application launches
  • Your custom workspace will now open every time you start Photoshop
